The Red Zone puts a bright red line on the floor, near the forklift, to show pedestrians where they are not allowed. It projects a red zone of light onto the ground to warning pedestrians and vehicles to stay out of dangerous work place.
Warehousing and cargo handling: The laser line lights on the side of the forklift can be used to mark the storage location of goods in the warehouse, helping the forklift driver to accurately place the goods at the designated location.
Loading and unloading: During the loading and unloading process, these line lights can be used to guide the forklift driver to accurately align the goods and reduce errors during loading and unloading.
Navigation and path indication: The laser line lights on the side of the forklift can be used to indicate the forward direction, turning points and safe distance of the forklift to ensure that the forklift can drive safely in narrow aisles or crowded working environments.
Safety warning: These line lights can also be used to alert other workers and remind pedestrians to be alert in the forklift operating area.
Are the Red Zone Danger Area Warning Lights UL rated?
Currently the Red Zone lights are UL rated for regular types of forklifts as well as EE and LPS rated forklifts. This means they can go on any regular forklift and also on EE and LPS forklifts, but not on EX rated forklifts. They will never be rated for EX trucks used in very high hazard locations.
• Suggested wiring is to ground the black wire and connect the red wire to the strobe light's positive wire. The current draw is minimal enough that the wire should be able to handle it just fine. You can also connect the forklift bluespot to the reverse alarms positive wire if you would like it to only be on while in reverse or if you lack a strobe light. Ideally though, you would want it on constantly for pedestrial safety.
• Typically, the forklift bluespot is mounted to the overhead guard near the strobe or rear work light.
• It is recommended to focus the spot about 7-8 feet from the rear of the forklift.
